The Veritas router plane is the new edition of the Stanley #71 with radical improvements. This planer is indispensable for cutting grooves, fillets, fitting hinges or general recesses where a clean base is desired and an accurate, adjustable depth is required. Thanks to the fine adjustment screw on the depth stop, precise and infinitely variable adjustment of the iron is possible on the Veritas router plane 050P38.01.

Versatile Veritas router plane

The blade can be used both in the middle, enclosed by the support surface, and on the outer side with an open support surface for working in corners. This makes this router a versatile tool.

Two irons & fine adjustment screw

Included with this basic plane from Vertias are 2 irons. One piece 1/2 inch (12,7 mm) straight and 1/2 inch with tip, to be able to clean out the base. A sharpening aid for the 12.7 mm iron is also included in the set. The strong dimensioned irons are made of high-strength A2 steel and are hardened to 60-62 HRC. They are then subjected to a low-temperature treatment for a finer grain.
