Sonowood, the tropical wood alternative or ebony alternative from Swiss Wood Solutions also has a lot to offer for processing. Due to its relatively homogeneous and firm structure, Sonowood can be milled and turned particularly well and precisely. This makes it the ideal material for filigree components and inlays. The complete closure of the pores makes the wood a very compact material that is easier to plane than ebony and can be sanded very well. A smooth surface can be achieved by using sandpaper with a low grit (240). The complete pore closure of this ebony or tropical wood substitute greatly reduces wear and dirt ingress.

The result is a very hard wood with the swelling behaviour, processing and density of well-known tropical woods such as ebony. The homogeneous wood structure allows the finest turned parts, CNC milled parts or carvings.
