Dark red Shellac Bona Rubin made in Germany is a dewaxed high-quality sheath shellac for making varnish.

Shellac Bona Rubin is suitable for addition into the violin varnish, varnish making and retouching with shellac.

If the lacquer is too soft for the respective instrument, the shellac can firstly be dissolved in 99% pure alcohol, this makes the varnish more glassy and hard. The mixture ratio depends on the original varnish.
