Description

Veritas Micro-Adjust Marking Gauge II 150mm without a skale with round weel cutter for wood 05N36.31

Veritas Micro-Adjust Marking Gauge 150mm (without a skale)

This marking gauge from Vertias has been completely redesigned. An independent mechanism now allows a fine adjustment, even when the stainless steel rod is locked. The plate is still made of brass as usual. The adjustment mechanism is built into the stainless steel rod and can be operated intuitively.

Functionality of the Marking Gauge

After a first rough adjustment, the position of the cutting wheel can be fine and cleanly adjusted up to approx. 6.35mm (1/4 inch). After fine adjustment, another adjustment can be prevented by locking another clamping screw.

Round blade

The gauge from VERITAS has a round knife blade that is ground on one side. Even on end grain or a problematic wood grain with unfavorable fibers can be scored or marked precisely and cleanly. The marking wheel can be safely lowered into the brass plate when not in use. This prevents injuries and protects the wheel at the same time. The guide rod is smooth and precise even after frequent use.

Marking Gauge Shape from Veritas

The guide rod of this gauge is eccentrically placed into the aluminum stop with a brass plate. This has various advantages: on the one hand, the stop has a larger support on the workpiece, and on the other hand, it prevents the gauge from rolling off the table or workbench.

  • Available with unmarked rod or rod graduated to 6" in 16ths
  • Hardened steel wheel
  • Wheel's single-sided bevel pulls gauge face against stock, maintaining accuracy
  • Wheel retracts into gauge face for storage and protection
  • Internal O-ring keeps light but constant friction on rod
  • Gauge fitted with two-stage collet; allows micro-adjustment of cutting wheel
  • Collet has fine-pitch thread; one revolution advances or retracts wheel 1/32", half turn 1/64", quarter turn 1/128", etc.
