High quality Veritas chisel PM-V11

The very precisely made chisels from Veritas are made of PM-V11 steel for the Veritas cutting tools. They are hardened to a hardness of HRC 61-63. The PM-V11 steel is extremely wear-resistant, powder-metallurgical, fine-grain steel that can withstand the highest loads without breaking or bending. Thanks to the fantastically adjusted steel, it can be easily re-sharpened with standard water stones despite its high durability. Thanks to the special material structure, the durability is twice as high as that of A2 steel.

The iron is flat and even right up to the stainless steel ferrule, with a tolerance of 0.0127 mm (0.0005 inch). This means that particularly deep chiselling work is also possible without any problems.

The beautiful, polished and ergonomically shaped handle is made from Canadian maple (Hard Maple). The wood is dried in an oven at high temperatures before processing. During this process, the sugar inside caramelizes and makes the wood even harder and more resistant, also to moisture. The caramelizing process gives the handle the lovely dark brown color.
