Shellac Astra made in Germany is a bright dewaxed high-quality sheath shellac for making varnish.

Shellac Astra is brighter and cleaner than Shellac Sun and also suitable for addition into the retouching varnish mixture. If the varnish is too soft for the respective instrument, the shellac can firstly be dissolved in 99% pure alcohol, this makes the varnish more glassy and hard.  The mixture ratio depends on the original varnish.
