Premium steel from Hitachi
The white paper steel from Hitachi has a very good edge retention and is easy to sharpen at the same time.
White paper steel is an extremely high quality carbon steel made from iron sand. This steel is ideal for cutting tools and chisels.
Special feature of the back with hollow grind
As a special feature, the IOROI NOMI chisels from Japan have a hollow grind on the mirror side to make it easier to flatten and sharpen this chisel. Regularly material loss when sharpening and flattening the mirror side causes the hollow grind to move backwards and with it the edge of the blade.
